This is a letter written by a thyroid cancer patient who came all the way from Nueva Ecija and got held up along Caloocan while on his way to Red Cross to get blood for his operation. He came to the emergency room without any money, a BP of 180/100, chest heaviness, nape pain, dizziness and difficulty of breathing.
Through the efforts of hospital personnel, doctors and the medical team, it became possible that this patient was managed for free. Even the pedia and surgery people and the nurses donated so that the patient can travel back home to Nueva Ecija.

To all who lifted a finger so I can move to travel the hundred miles back to where I belong -- my sincerest thanks.
The two contrasting events that manifested in me today; first the traumatic experience of giving away what is not even rightfully mine at the point of a bladed weapon, the other more than consoling and compensating show of compassion and kindness in their effort to lighten up my burden, more than attests to the fact that behind the clouds is a silver lining -- a living proof that God will never abandon us -- that for always, His provisions will reach us through His mandated instrumentalities.
True enough, each and everyone of you went over and above your call to duty. You did not only exerted an extra effort -- you were willing to sacrifice walking extra miles so you can extend your services and more than anything else your kindness and benevolence. Truly, God lives in you.
All these changed my feelings of anger, bitterness and revenge into thoughts of forgiveness and prayers. you gave me all the courage to pray for the souls of the 2 holduppers that they may change their ways and for God to grant them His mercy.
My deepest thanks to all and God bless!
I was a former seminarian
Sincerely,
Tatay CSV

Tatay CSV passed away already when Typhoon Pepeng hit their area. May this serve as a reminder for us in the medical profession to exert a little effort of extra kindness to our patients... it goes a long way.
Thanks Michelle for sharing.
